mail app crashing

After installing the Beta version of El Capitan my Mail app starting crashing upon opening. I waited until I now have the full public version and Mail is still crashing.

In looking at the report I notice that it says :

:Application Specific Information:

*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'EWSDelivery doesn't have an EWSAccount, got (null) instead'

abort() called

terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException"

My computer details are:

Kind of helped me Joe - thank you! What I did was open the Mail app without the laptop connected to wifi and thus the internet. Fearing nothing I deleted all 7000 emails in all my accounts plus the junk/deleted/trash folders and then reopened the internet connection. This time the app stayed running and then (weirdly) many of the deleted emails started coming back.
