iPhone cannot be used message

Plugged in iPhone 6 (had it for more than 6 months and have synced it multiple times before this), bought music, synced iPhone. Went to update iPhone via computer (from iOS 9.0.1 to 9.0.2). Did so, and when it finished updating I received "The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes." Checked to see if there was an iTunes update available, and there is not because I have the current version of iTunes (12.1.2). Turned off iPhone, turned off computer (Windows Vista by the way). Turned both back on again, same issue. Any advice/help?
