Mac App Store Downloads are SUPER SLOW!!!

I know it's not my internet connection or my computer because everything else outside of the Mac App Store is downloading perfectly fine at speeds around 2-3 mpbs. Mac App Store is super slow on 3 other devices, all computers. I purchased Final Cut Pro X today so I could use it today. Clearly this is an issue since it has been downloading for 8.5 hours now and is only at 868mb / 2.98gb. If I cannot get this software installed on my macbook tonight, it's useless to me and I better get a refund. I need to finish a project for school by tomorrow night and at the moment the download says 1 day remaining, ridiculous! This is terrible, I expect more from Apple!! Why is the Mac App Store so slow and why isn't anyone at Apple fixing this issue?
