Q: photos: wrong video count
hi,
i keep getting wrong video count in photos library.
there are 871 videos in "videos" album but cumulative count says XXXXX photos, 1 video.
the library is synced via icloud photo library to iphone6, ipad air2, mbp 15 late 2011 and retina mbp 15 mid 2015.
oddly, the cumulative count on iphone&ipad is correct.
on both mbp's the count is incorrect.
everything syncs ok.
anybody else experiencing same issue?
anybody knows how to solve it?

Community Specialists
Hi sasa_p,
Thank you for becoming an Apple Support Communities member and for taking the time to post your first question! We’re excited that you are here and can’t wait to hear more from you! :D
To begin, I understand that you have iCloud Photo Library enabled across all of your iOS devices and your Mac computers. The photo and video count is reporting correctly on your iOS devices, but your MacBook Pro’s video count is incorrect within the Photos application.
Before beginning to troubleshoot this situation, I would first like you to create a backup of your Photos library using Time Machine.
Use Time Machine to back up your Photos library
Your photos and videos are important. Even if you use iCloud Photo Library, it’s recommended that you use Time Machine to back up your Mac, including your Photos library.
Keep your Photos library and Time Machine backups on different disks. An easy way to do this is to keep your Photos library in your Pictures folder (the default location), and set Time Machine to back up to an external drive, a disk on your network, or a Time Capsule.
Get started with Photos for OS X - Apple Support
Because your Photos and Videos are being displayed correctly on your iOS devices, we will begin troubleshooting iCloud Photo Library on your MacBook Pro computers. My first suggestion is to repair your Photos library. Information on this process can be found in the link below.
Use the Photos library repair tool - Apple Support
If the issue continues after repairing your Photos libraries, please proceed by working through the following steps.
Check to verify that iCloud Photo Library is enabled:
1. Open Photos.
2. From the menu bar, select Photos > Preferences.
3. Click iCloud at the top of the Preferences window.
4. Select the “iCloud Photo Library” checkbox if it isn't already selected. This should resolve the issue once the videos sync with iCloud.
If the "iCloud Photos Library" checkbox is already selected:
1. Deselect the “iCloud Photo Library" checkbox.
2. You will be prompted to disable iCloud Photo Library and remove your photos or to keep your photos on the computer. Make the selection to keep your photos.
3. After disabling iCloud Photo Library, wait a couple of minutes to ensure the process has been completed and then select the checkbox again. This will prompt iCloud to start communicating with your iCloud Photo Library on your Mac again.
After this process finishes, check to see if the number of videos is being displayed correctly. We invite you to reply and let us know if these steps were helpful to you in resolving this situation or to provide further information. We know that situations with you personal photos on your computer can be frustrating, but I want to assure you that we are here to help!
We look forward to hearing back from you and for your continued participation in the Apple Support Communities!
Best!
