OS X 10.10.5 cammand + s for single user mode not working

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)

Processor 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Press command + s when starting up, but still get log on screen intead single user mode

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
