I am unable to download iTunes to my laptop HP Windows 7.

I have an Ipad which I upgraded to iOS 9 & it asking me to connect to iTunes. I tried download iTunes to my laptop but it is now downloading & yet I get a message thanking me for downloading iTunes. What can I do to complete the upgrade?

You've installed that updated version of iTunes on your laptop ? If you have then when you connect the iPad to the laptop does the updated version of iTunes recognise the iPad and prompt you to reset it and restore to your backup ?
