el capitan download

I have an imac mid 2007. Yesterday and today I tried to download the new El Capitan but it failed. When I tried the App Store replied: an unknown error has occurred.

Then I pressed "access" and it replied: We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later.

Anyone could help me please!
