I have an iphone 5c and 3g does not work on my phone however 4g works perfectly

I have an iphone 5c and when connected to 3g I have no internet access however I have access when connected to 4g. I'm not sure how this can be the case...I've restarted the phone several times but nothing works

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.1.2
