Sometimes when I go to use my iPad mini it displays that the battery is flat even though I've just charged it. I have a hard time trying to get it to turn on when it dose this. Sometimes I have to hold down the power and home button at the same time but that doesn't always work. It seems to do this after I leave it on charge overnight or while I am at work. Anyone know a solution to this problem?

Yes. I have had this problem for 2 or 3 weeks now and it's happened aroun 3 or 4 time so far

THis could be issue with your battery as your battery could be old.you could replace your battery
I've only had this iPad mini for 19 months
is your ipad's adapter original o you bought from somewhere else and also do you overcharge it
It's a original cable come with the iPad mini and I leave on charge overnight

TAke it to service center
