What exactly happens when you try to sync?

Does iTunes see the iPod?

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?

Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?

Stopped after update of what? iPod? Itunes>

What iTunes version? What computer OS and version?

Do the songs play in iTunes?

Does any media now sync to the iPod?

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Hello - for me - iPod touch 2nd gen 4.2.1 - it charges from the USB (which has been used to sync an iPod classic with no problems minutes before trying with the touch) but does not show up in iTunes (latest version, 12.3).

It shows as an 'Apple iPod' in 'this PC' in Windows 10, with almost full 16 GB of 'internal storage'.

Can't get to see what's in this internal storage from the PC (shows as 'DCIM', an 'empty folder', when clicked on.)

The iPod plays and works fine.

Yes, done all that - says I have the latest drivers.

Tried new USB port and cable - same thing - charges iPod, shows up in 'this PC' etc. Nothing in iTunes.

Run 'diagnostics' - says 'no iPod found'...switched it off...

Not keen on 'reset' if I can't add any music to it (it's full at the moment - and gets used frequently) - shame if it's not going to be able to play new music!

Tried removing it from 'connected devices' and then scanning - it is not detected - but it is when disconnected and re-connected...
