El Capitan - there was an initialization error a valid dvd drive could not be found 70012
Since upgrading to El Capitan every time my 2012 MacBook Pro Retina wakes up I'm presented with the following message -
" there was an initialization error a valid dvd drive could not be found (70012) "
The Retina MBP of course doesn't have an internal optical drive, rather I have Apple's external DVD player attached directly to the MBP vis USB.
I get this message under any condition (DVD app open, DVD app closed, DVD drive loaded, DVD drive empty, etc). No matter what the case is, every time the computer wakes up it's trying to read a DVD, which shouldn't be an issue as Apple's drive is sitting right there on USB. Once I clear the message I'm able to use the DVD player without any issues.
I have never had this issue before, it started after installing El Capitan. I would have tried repairing Disc Permissions but it doesn't look like that's an option anymore with Apple implementing SIP (System Integrity Protection).
Anybody else having these issues or have a work-around?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11)
