Reinstalling Yosemite on an iMac (2011)

I have removed data from my iMac, I am now trying to reinstall Yosemite for my Son, using his Apple ID.I continually receive a message "This item is temporarily unavailable!" However, when I try using my Apple ID, it starts to load. How can I get around this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

I suspect that your iMac is still registered in your name.

Make a Yosemite USB installer:

Then erase the HDD and have your son install Yosemite via the USB installer.

Ciao.
