Oct 5, 2015 6:25 AM in response to dermoid777by dermoid777,OK managed to solve this today ... !
Went to About This Mac and saw that serial no. is now "unknown" (???)
So how to reset serial?
Went to :http://rogersm.net/icloud-problems-mountain-lion-serial-number
downloaded Blank Board Serializer
Downloaded Carbon Copy Cloner for el capitan
Used this to make disk image of Blank Board Serializer dmg onto the USB
Restarted holding option
pick the USB key "boot disc"
Got serial no from chassis of mac
entered serial
restarted holding option and chose mac os x
Boom – all iCloud / iTunes / messages log ins are working with Apple ID
Seems to be all working now.... ! Fingers and toes crossed

Oct 5, 2015 7:34 AM in response to dermoid777by oxboss,I had the same problem, could not log-in with my old password. The problem (and solution) seems to be at least for users with a German keyboard that the computer thinks you use an English keyboard, so characters like @ ? _ z or y are on different keys - you keep typing the wrong password!!! so what you need to do is find out how to type your for example German password on an English keyboard. Solved my problem, but what a stupid bug!

Oct 8, 2015 7:30 PM in response to dermoid777by NayyerG,Thanks dermoid777, your info was extremely helpful. I'm having the same problem that you experienced.
I followed the steps you mentioned, downloading the Blank Board Serializer and then Carbon Copy Cloner. I then used CCC to copy the BBS onto my external hard drive. No problems with that. However when I booted up my computer (pressing Option) and selected my external hard drive, it just kicked me right to my regular desktop. There was no place to pick the USB key "boot disc", as you wrote. I tried my external hard drive connected to both port options, but same results. I then tried the whole process with a USB stick, however when I booted up my computer (again pressing option), I couldn't even see the USB stick as an option.
Do you have any idea what may be the problem?
Thanks!

Jan 6, 2016 2:13 AM in response to dermoid777by kmcb1,Thanks! This worked a treat.
So I would recommend that for all posters who are having trouble logging into iTunes and App Store first check if you have a serial number. Go to 'About this Mac' (top left, Apple logo). If there is no serial number then follow the steps to input your serial number. A painless 5 minute job. (FYI, I used Disk Utility to make the bootable DMG).

Feb 12, 2016 8:42 AM in response to dermoid777by djmike1985,it did not work for me. i have a macbook pro late 2013 (macbook pro11,3).
when i run the USB it gives me this message: "LoadEfiDriver: Image Start Failed: 0x8000000e"
and stays there. I tried doing over the USB several times with both CCC and disk utility and still get same message.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thnx.
