pole watch with GPS function or built in. For outdoor running I would like to record the running routes. Why should I bring my iPhone to have it? Is there any other way? Thanks in advance for any help or comment!

I would like to use my apple watch for running as the one device for all!

It should be able to give me measurement such as heart bit, speed, pace, music and also Get GPS signal to allow me have and record the route I am running or biking. For the latest one I understood that I have to bring my IPhone with me.

Is it possible that in the future I have in my activity app the map I run/biked out door?

Thanks in advance for any help or comment

Best regards

Hi

This is a user-based technical support community. You are not talking to Apple here and no-one here can tell you what features Apple may add in the future.

At present, Apple Watch does not have GPS functionality, so it cannot be used by itself to map routes and the Workout app does not offer mapping (even if you also take your iPhone with you).

Some third-party apps (eg Runtastic) offer mapping when used with iPhone. Check the App Store to learn more.

If you would like to suggest new features to Apple, you can do so here (all submissions are read, but you should not expect to receive a reply):
