remote problem

Hello everybody,

My apple remote was working. I held down the MENU and SELECT button because I thought it was the way of restarting apple TV.

Since I've done that the remote appears to be connected as the light blinks, but nothing else happens. I tried un-pairing and re-pairing the remote and restarting apple TV, it still not working. But the light are still blinking whenever I push the remote buttons. Any idea what I can do?
