When I am in mail and go to New Message the Icons in the tool bar have no text. I have Text and Icons selected in the program. How can I get both Icons and Text in the New Message screen?
I recently upgraded to El Capitan.

The message-editing window doesn't have that feature. Only the main viewer window does.
Thanks for the info. Did they change this feature with El Capital? I recall both Text and Icons were available in the "New Message" screen in previous versions.

I don't know how long it's been that way.
Yes they have just changed it with El Capitan and it is most annoying.

Just talked to an Apple rep.
His info was that the decision to remove the drop-down SHOW menu in the Customize Toolbar window which allowed one to display the icon with or without text was intentional.
He was unable to explain why this button remained in the Main or Opening window Customize Toolbar window but not in the others (e.g. Reply / New Message.)
He advised that we should each submit our concern to the Apple Feedback group at http://www.apple.com/feedback/mail.html
I have done so today.
