Ipod 5th generation has been washed
Can anyone help with this please on how to fix it as it has been through the wash today?

No not turn on or charge until dry. Dry the iPod is a sealed container of a desiccant like uncooked rice for a week. Periodically change the dessiccant.
If it does not work
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
