new keyboard qwerty on azerty macbook

Hi all,

I have an azerty macbook pro and I bought a separate USB keyboard which I plug in my macbook pro when I use the laptop at my desk.

My macbook pro is a french laptop with an azerty keyboard but the keyboard I bought is qwerty. When I plug it in and use it, it is recognized as an azerty keyboard and I can't seem to change the setting.

I went to settings - keyboard and changed the input to "UK keyboard" but that doesnt change anything.

Would you guys have any idea on how to do that?
