I currently own an iMac 5K (3.5GHZ i5, M290X) and I am looking to purchase a UPS for it. I currently own a CyberPower simulated sinewave UPS, but I don't know if this type of UPS will cause harm to my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's not correct that all UPS devices use simulated sine wave, although most do. CyberPower has pure sine wave UPS units, which are more expensive and geared towards high-end / professional grade electronics. So the question still remains, will a simulated sine wave UPS fail or damage an iMac 5k during power loss?

The answer is no.
It will not. All UPS devices use simulated sine wave AC. Get an APC device. They are the best.
