I have a Bose Companion 5 sound system. It is has USB, prior to upgrading it worked fine. After upgrade it is listed as a sound device, but no sound plays. Any thoughts on what to do?

I have the same issue. Same set-up only mine is mid 2011. The my computer would go to sleep, it would either reset to the internal speakers or not work at all and would have to reset the computer. Last night I watched a tv show on Netflix. After the show was over I switched to another no sound for anything. Restart and sound worked till I stopped the show then no sound. Has been this way since upgrading to El Capitan.
