I have a 3rd generation Apple TV and a brand new Macbook Air. I have tried connecting and reconnecting the wifi, Reseting and Restoring the Apple Tv settings. But when I connect my Macbook Air to my Apple Tv it will display my computer screen but it won't allow me to control my computer. I don't know what else to do. Please help!!

Thats how it's supposed to work, the navigation would need to be via Mac (not ATV)

You can't control a computer using an Apple TV
I understand that its not going to be controlled from the Apple TV it won't let me control my computer when using the Apple Tv
Correct I can't control my computer or see my mouse.
So the Mac is frozen? Can you elaborate on the issue?
Correct the Mac is frozen only when connected to the Apple Tv. It won't allow me to do anything to my screen and it won't display my mouse.
