Is there a cost to me when Apple phone me on there technical support link. I live in the uk

I have just received call from apple support to take me through resetting my rescue recovery password. I live in the Uk, and requested the call through there support site. Is this service free as no one mentioned any charges.

Why don't you ask the caller. How would we know?

Because of regulations set by Ofcom (the communications regulator in the UK) you can never be charged to receive a call within the UK if you have a UK number. This includes numbers beginning 08 that Apple uses for call-backs from online requests.
