Can I remove the Selfies album from Photos

I have upgraded to El Capitan and with it the new version of Photos, which includes a number of useful new features. However it also has a so-called "Selfies" album, which I would dearly like to delete. Can anyone tell me if this is possible, or must I endure it for all time?
