Finder background picture in El Capitan

I've just upgraded to El Capitan and I don't see a way to put in a background picture on my Finder window. When I go to View>Show View Options that function is greyed out. I always had a background image on that window in other OS X configurations. Any advice?

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.9)
