Question

Cell phones that work with mac?

Does anyone know of or have a cellphone that works with mac. I would like to be able to transfer my own photos and ringtones on and off of it. Also if anyone knows of software that will transfer ringtones. I'm an editor so I will be able to make my ringtones unless there is a easy way. Thanks for anybodys help.

Most of the motorola phones (including e398, v3, v360, L7, etc) work well with mac. we can synchronize phonebook with addressbook and datebook with iCal. and we can transfer files from/to the phone via bluetooth, set up the phone as bluetooth modem.

I have a Treo 700P (Palm OS), that I like.

I use Missing Sync to sync it with my Macs. ... And I use Ringo to assign ringtones to address book members, or groups. The Treo can use MP3s as ringtones, and probably some other formats as well. ...

Michael,

If you haven't seen it, check out this thread on the VX8300 here on Apple Discussions.

There's also this information on HowardForums about the phone, too (this link is also in the thread above, about 1/2 way down).

depends on your wireless carrier to some extent. verizon is known for crippling their versions of phones that would normally work fine with a mac. it took me a while but i was able to finally hack my motorola e815 to allow both BT iSync and file transfer. there are hacks for the verizon razr aswell.

You can connect your Razor through Bluetooth and place calendars and other things on it, as long as it is Bluetooth compatible.

Well the phone I got was the LG VX8300.... Anybody know anything good about this phone. Any software or other great hacks... I'm going to be going thru Verizon Wireless.... Thanks for eveyones help.

I have a Nokia 6133. Connects via Bluetooth. I had to modify a resource in iSync to let it be recognized. I found instruction on the internet.
