Itunes is not recognising when it is connected to my iphone ad ipad

I've just upgraded to windows 10 and upgraded my iTunes. Now when i connect my phone or ipad, although it connects to the computer it does not show up as connected in my iTunes.

iPhone 5, iOS 9.0.2, Windows 10, HP laptop
