Playlist Modification: Colors, Columns, etc

I noticed that some playlists have columns that could be modified by right clicking on them, but some do not. Of those do not, they tend to have background of the album itself (colors and pic) which I am not sure how to modify. How do I change those?

Also, I just found out that the check box next to the songs are gone, how do I check/uncheck songs now?

Anyone? I just want to know if there is a way to make the top of the columns show up so I can modify them, and how do I remove/change the colored background of the playlists.

Hi Cyberium,

In the upper right corner of the iTunes window, just under the Search bar, use the pull-down menu to set the view to Songs.
