Mirror to iPad, iPhone, not MBP.

JUST picked up my first ATV and everything works great except for connecting and mirroring my MBP. I know the settings are right because I can mirror my iPad and iPhone.

The MBP is running OSX 10.9.5 and is a Mid 2012 model. When I try to connect, I get the message "Could not connect to Apple TV". I restarted ATV and also restarted it by unplugged the ATV with no success.

Am I missing something on the MBP? I'm guessing it's not a network issue since my mobile devices work ok.

OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), AP Express, iTouch 4G, ipad 4, ATV

Other devices working doesn't rule out a network issue.

If on wifi try connecting Apple TV to router via ethernet

To see a current status of the network go to istumbler or similar. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks

Test on another network

i'll try, but I should have mentioned that my daughter has no problems with her ATV and MBP. So we do have two ATV's in the house and I see both of them on my MBP.

That would be another ATV and MBP.

In your original post you said you had problems connecting to ATV from your MBP, is that no longer the case?

If you did still have the connectivity issue, that will require the steps previously outlined to help troubleshoot.
