I am trying to reset to factory settings my ipod but when it asks for the password to turn off find my ipod it won't accept the password

iPod touch, iOS 9.0.2

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

In any event to activate the iPod yo will have to enter the ID and password last used in Settings>iCloud.
