Ethernet has been broken since doing the Yosemite Update on Desktop

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to get my desktop to run on the ethernet again since doing the Yosemite update it won't let me connect to it only via WiFi should I reload Yosemite or just move on to El Capitan ?
