iPhone 6s won't turn on

I just got the iphone 6s about a week ago, I was using it today and then it turned off. The home button was very hot and the phone wouldn't turn on. It has 30% battery. I put it in the freezer to try to cool it down and the home button was still super hot but the rest of the phone wasn't. Eventually I got it to turn on after I reset it in recovery mode or whatever its called. It seems to be fine now and the home button has cooled off.

I'm not sure putting the device in the freezer was a good idea, as you could have introduced condensation to the device and end up with water damage. If you are concerned, you have the option to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware examined. There have been some users reporting similar behavior.
