Importing Bookmarks, Contacts & Calendar without Migration Assistant

This should be a common question, but the board always replies negative when I ask so I'll post here.

I want to do a selective install of certain apps from my Yosemite back up. I can copy the non-Apple apps. I moved non-desired apps into another folder. I don't want to import anything into Photos. It's still a mess from my initial merge, thumbs of images not stored on the computer, but on the external drive, etc. Very confusing but obviously a process that many will integrate. I have no desire for iCloud backup, that created a mess in my Address book and Calendar with duplicates, with a long manual cleanup. So I won't run M.A. as it's all or nothing with the apps.

Right now, I'm trying to import contacts, bookmarks and calendars. I used M.A. for the system settings. I've been trying to locate a plist file for Safari and Contacts to drop into the El Cap folder with no luck. I'm assuming they're in the User/Library, which is now hidden in Yosemite and El Cap. I may be off track here.

I really need to access Bookmarks and Contacts asap. Again, it seems like a common question, but I'm having trouble negotiating this board, learning curve I guess.

Any advice would be greatly appreicated!

Safari Bookmarks are in ~/Library/Safari

Contacts are in ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook.

Calendars are in ~/Library/Calendars.

~/ is the symbol for your Home folder, so all of those are in your home Library folder.

I have never moved them manually so I don't know if it will convert them appropriately.

If you have a problem with Contacts, try removing the addressbook-v22.abcddb files from that folder and open Contacts again.

If the old system is still functional, it might be better to create Contacts Archive and Calendars Archive from each program.

Thanks Barney,

So Users/My Name(Home folder) shows Desktop, Docs., Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures, Public. No Library. I tried entering your syntax in Spotlight, nothing found. I was informed the Home/Library is hidden by Apple, accessable via Terminal (whew). They used to be visible prior to Yosemite.

Am I missing something in your process?

I appreciate your help!
