Q: Podcasts app is using 2.5GB of "Documents & Data" - why?
Are many others having issues with the Podcasts app "Documents & Data" taking up lots of memory?
Right now if I look in iPhone Settings / General / Storage & iCloud Usage / Manage Storage, I can see that Podcasts is taking up 3.6GB. I select that, and see that podcast episodes themselves are 1.1GB. Looking at that in detail, that seems to include the episodes that have been played but haven't yet reached the 24-hour deletion time. OK, that's fine. That's supposed to be there. But what troubles me is that "Documents & Data" is 2.5GB. What on earth is this 2.5GB? Is there a way to get rid of it that doesn't involve entirely resetting my phone? And if I do reset my phone, will it just fill up again in a couple of weeks?
A few weeks ago this was around 2GB, I think, so it's edged up, but I've certainly added and erased far more than 500MB of podcasts over that time. I haven't tried tracking this on a day by day basis to figure out if it's ever gone down.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions out there.
