With iCloud where are my photo backups stored? If I delete a photo from my iPad is it still saved in the Cloud?

I Have iCloud setup on my iPad (this is my only APPLE product) but where are my backup photos stored? Can I delect a photo from my iPad and still find it saved in the Cloud? How?

It's stored in the cloud - Apple's iCloud. If you delete it from iCloud, then it's gone forever.
