Disney Pix Micro camera

I recently purchased a Disney Pix Micro digital camera for my 5 year old son. I realized when I purchased it that the included software was Windows only. However, in my experience when that is the case, you can just plug the device in and it will at least show up in some way where you can remove the files. This device does in fact show up in my System Profiler as a USB Digital Camera, but does not show up in iPhoto, Aperture or on the desktop in any way. I am looking for a workaround so that I can remove the images from the camera, and I don't have to dissapoint my son by returning it.
