formula help

Hi,

Pretty simple question I hope, I am trying to do a SUM that I cannot make work. Could someone help me with the formula.

It is an easy sum so I need to find 20% of an invoice after the tax and Vat has been removed. so I did this sum

(ROW E - ROW I - ROW K) x 20 ÷ 100

Invoice amount ROW E

TAX ROW I

VATROW K

This just gives me a big warning sign.

any help appreciated.

Thanks

Are you trying to "sum" three cells or are you trying to "sum" three complete rows? Or are you doing this to columns? Columns have letter designations (A, B, C, etc). Rows have number designations (1, 2, 3, etc). Cells have both, as in A2, B20, C99, and the like.

The proper syntax for adding/subtracting cells would be something like =(E1 - I1 - K1) * 20/100

But, of course, I don't know what cells you are actually trying to use.
