i have an update available for iPhoto. when i try to update it says temporally unavailable. have yosemeti on my macbook and use photos app.can i delete the iPhoto update that shows to be available with red number in app store.

You are getting update alerts because you haven't deleted the iPhoto app. Getting rid of the app should get rid of the updates.

deleting did get rid of update notification. could you add how to delete? i had to search that out.
answer for me was: go to Finder, then Applications, right click the iPhoto icon that has a circle/slash through it, select "move to trash"
Deleting apps would appear to most of us here to be MAC 101.
All apps are installed in the Applications folder.
To delete an app requires dragging & dropping them into the Trash.
