I recently bought a 2012 MacBook Pro 13" A1278 model but it does come with memory. I'd like to know what happen to MacBook Pro screen if no memory installed. I got 1 beep at startup and screen was not turned on. The Caps Lock key was not lit up. Please help!! Thanks in advance.

A computer needs memory to run. Where did you buy a Macbook Pro without memory? Why was there no memory? How do you know the computer works if there was no memory in it to test its operation? Memory is a critical component of a computer.
In addition to beeping, it should blink the power-on/sleeping light, indicating "not enough working RAM to start up".
A Mac that does this would be expected to continue to show signs of working properly when you add the appropriate RAM modules. if there are no other problems, you would hear the chime after you add those modules.
