Q: Can Apple put me out of my misery and admit iPhone calling doesn't really work

iMAC 2011, Yosemite

iPad Air 2014 iOS iOS 9.0.2

iPhone 5s 2014 9.0.2

BT Home Hub 4 2015

In short, I have had iPhone calling working on my iMac, but only a couple of times and each time it has required restarting everything, logging in and out of iCloud on every device, logging in and out of FaceTime on every device. Then it worked a couple of times for a few calls and stopped. It is utterly exasperating as it would be a brilliant tool for me for various reasons. It is so unreliable, though, I have pretty much given up - I'm sure I've read almost every article available on the subject.

For some reason I decided to torment myself again today. This time, nothing works. No matter what I restart, log in or out of, change on my firewall.

What makes it more frustrating - my iPad and iPhone work just fine together, without any of the logging in or out or restarting, it's just the iMac.

So, come on Apple - admit it, put me out of my misery - it doesn't really work, does it**?

Apple is getting worse than other vendors for this sort of thing. Infuriating.

Sorry for ranting.

**Yes I know lots of people will say it works for them - but a quick Google will show you how many people are in the same position as me.
