Immediately after I installed El Capitan, I found that iBooks Author can no longer be used at all. After my book is loaded, no matter what I do, the spinning ball will not go away. Has anybody else encountered this?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4)
Problem solved: I used Applcleaner to uninstall iBooks Author, then re-downloaded from the App Store. Now it works fine.

Problem not solved. The problem came back. What I seem to be seeing is that, if I open the app and the file at the same time, I get the constantly spinning ball. If I open the app and then load my book, Author acts normal--most of the time.
I got tech-supported with a problem with Mail and was told to try holding down the shift key when starting the app; this starts it without caches. Apparently, this can apply to any app under El Capitan. Seems to be working with Author.
Well, this semi-works; however, you still have to load your book and wait a long time before you can do any editing.
I upgraded to OS 10.11.2, and Author seems to work a little better but is still not reliable.
