I Successfully hooked up the ATV to the TV set and network using HDMI cable. I already had an Apple ID for ITunes but the ATV is not showing up as a device so I can't go any further. What step did I miss? I appreciate any help. Thanks

Have you done the “connect to iTunes” bit where you receive a passcode.
Hi, yes I did the thing on ATV and got the passcode but I have nowhere to enter it
Did you look in the device list (just to the right of the 3 dots in the iTunes window tool bar)
I did look through all the toolbars and screens but didn't see it. I will look again though.

If it's not there something on the network is likely blocking it.
1st Gen ATV doesn't appear as device in ITunes
