In my numbers 9 I can get enter the date 10/05 (Oct 5) tab to next cell and it would complete the year...10/05/15.
In the newer version of numbers I enter 10/05 and tab to the next cell and it it comes out 10/01/05.
Can someone help?...an answer from 2011 did not help.

My machine works as yours did in the past when the cell format is set to automatic. If the cell is formatted as date/time (01/05/15) then I get 10/01/15. I would tend to think that formatting the cell would be the answer but "automatic" seems to deliver waht you want.

This works until I get to the months of Oct, Nov and Dec.
if I enter 01/02 and tab it gives me 01/02/15 but if I enter 10/05 and tab it gives me 10/01/05.
And also if I have it on automatic is doesn't give me the date options...and if on date and time and hit auto it gives me 10/05.

do not enter the month with a preceding "0" or Number believes you are entering the mm/yy instead of mm/dd
enter 1 Oct 2015 as "10/1"
