Q: Problems with Bootcamp after El Capitan installation

Hi,2 days ago i installed El Capitan. When i entered in boot camp partition,my keyboard didn't work. I tried uninstalling windows and re-installing it again,but now whole partition has problems..it don't load well,and i have to force quit my mac by pressing power button..

 

When partition worked(only 1 time) i connected an usb logitech keyboard and it worked..then added manually by bluetooth settings my bluetooth keyboard(apple) and it went,but at the restarting of mac,keyboard didn't work and windows didn't load. It get a black screen after log in with my microsoft account.

Someone knows what's the problem? Maybe i have to download again ISO file of windows 8?

    Hi, same here. No keyboard and trackpad after installing El Capitan. Windows 8.1. It seems to be a driver problem. Dammnnn

    Hi, I seem to be having problems with "Bootcamp Windows" not working in Startup Disk after my upgrade to El Capitan.  I had upgraded to Windows 10 and had done all the most recent updates to Apple products there, as well as the most recent updates to windows itself, while I was running Yosemite.  I then upgraded to El Capitan, and I can no longer restart in "Bootcamp Windows" .  While in Startup Disk, neither Macintosh HD OS X 10.11.1 or BOOTCAMP Windows can be selected for use to start up the computer, it is stuck in "You have selected  OS X, 10.11.1on the disk Macintosh HD" selection.

    Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix??  Thanks

    I have the same problem and can't find anything posted to resolve the issue. Really irritating as I run Quicken in the Windows partition.

     

    ****Update: 'same problem' being I'm not able to restart in BootCamp - only selection is Mac hard disk.

    All this sounds familiar.

    USB problem, check.

    Unable to restart to Bootcamp, check.

     

    Here is what I've found, all by accident.

    Try setting Bootcamp as your startup disk in system preferences.

    Shutdown the computer. Restart will not do the job.

    Power up. And, ... Windows!

    That is the only way I've found to use Bootcamp after El Capitan.

    Hope it works for someone else too.

    I experienced the same thing after I updated to El Capitan. I called the Apple Support and they told me that it was probably the drivers and it needs to be updated since the apple os was updated. They told me to download the Windows Support Software on the bootcamp application and save it on a USB then open it on the Windows partition and run the setup.exe

     

    I have Windows 7 running on my Mac (21.5 inch, late 2013) but for some reason the support software bootcamp downloaded was for Win8 so when I run the setup, a dialog box opens up and says something like "the software is not compatible for this version". I called apple support again and they said I could either contact Microsoft and maybe they could give me the correct drivers for my Win7 or I could uninstall the whole Windows partition on my Mac and then install it again from scratch. I'm still thinking about what I should do since I have to back up my files first before doing anything.

     

    But anyway, maybe you could try downloading the support software and run it on the windows side to update your drivers. Since you're running Windows 8, it could work for you.

    Current BC6 drivers are Windows 10 compatible. If you need W7/W8+ drivers, please see Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support .

     

    For each link, there is a System Requirements section, which should be read to ensure it matches what you need.  For example, Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640 has (the text in the article is informational, but the System Requirements section is authoritative).
