I have over 60,000 photos in my iphoto library and that may be part of my problem but I can't even view the pictures as most of them have a - - - - - - - - outline around the photo and all black inside. When I click on the photo it comes up in an observable picture and I can make changes etc. but will not go back as a thumb size only an outline as before. What can I do to eliminate this problem? Thanks!

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), 27" flat screen
