Not all songs are "matching" or uploading to the cloud

I quit iTunes Music after my free trial ended and paid for iTunes Match.

When I set it up, it only matches about 7,000 of my 22,000 tracks. I have tried switching off "iCloud Music Library" from the preferences and switching it back on. It will scan, but does not match the rest of the tracks or upload any tracks that it does not find. Any thoughts?

Uploading takes some time, especially if 2/3 of your collection is not matching. Also, in recent weeks it seems their servers have been overloaded/slow. Newer versions of iTunes don't clearly show you the upload progress, either, so you have no idea what exactly is happening while its happening. You might see a progress circle appear in the upper right hand corner of the iTunes application (near the search box) while it is working. I would start the scan/upload process and then leave it overnight.
