Why is my music only working in the house?

Hi! I download music fairly regularly and sync to my phone. Ive never had a problem up until yesterday. It wouldn't sync to my phone. I messed with a bunch of stuff, both on my phone, and on my iTunes. AFTER DOING ALL THAT I finally realized I wasn't logged in (face palm!) so I logged in and it synced. I walked out of my house and NONE of my songs where available to listen to. Only 2 albums that I actually purchased were available to play. The best thing about the "music" app is it doesn't require wifi (PS just to verify Im not talking about apple music I haven't even started my free trial yet, Im talking about music I personally downloaded and listened too a million times without wifi!!) Im wondering if anyone knows what I turned off/on when I was messing with everything?! Thanks in advance!!!

I have no real idea what it was you did. I have found these:

iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - https://support.apple.com/HT202190 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."

iTunes: Using AirPlay - https://support.apple.com/HT202809 - "Learn how to use AirPlay to stream videos, music, and photos wirelessly from iTunes on your computer."
