Why are my documents not saving?

So I bought my Macbook Air this August, and at first I was able to save my documents (pages, keynote etc.) but now it will not allow me. Every time I try it says "The file ___ couldn't be opened". I tried saving it to different places (iCloud, Desktop etc.) but it still doesn't work. This have been going on for a couple weeks now.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
