when I want to update, an old email appears and cannot be erased

My problem has been 'fixed' twice at a genius bar, once on my old mac pro, and now on my mac air:

when I get a notice to update, an old email appears in one box and a blank space for my password in the adjoining box. The email is light gray and cannot be erased.

Therefore, I cannot use my ibook author nor can I update

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

You need to delete and redownload the iBook Author; the incorrect Apple ID is stored inside it.
