How can I fix the monitor cable for Cinema Display 27", which is loose and shorts out when I touch it?

My display connects to my computer with three cable heads: power, USB and video port. The video port cable is very sensitive to touch. When my cat steps on it while passing next to my computer, the display goes black, and I have to jiggle it to reconnect.

Is there a good way to repair/replace the cable or the video port head?
