Audio Midi setup constantly creates a new device

I'm using my 2008 Macbook Pro with a MOTU Ultralite MK3. The problem I'm having is that every time i start up the computer Audio Midi setup creates a new MOTU device. So for instance I just had to delete 13 MOTU devices it had created. It hasn't caused any problems other than that I'm aware of but it seems like it could.
